Well made
My 2nd Pacsafe product. Well-made.
My 2nd Pacsafe product. Well-made.
I just got back from a trip using this ECO sling. Based on this trip, this sling needs more organization.
The front pocket is just one big dump pocket. Small items that I needed to take out frequently + didn't really need to be "secured" often fell to the bottom and I had to take time to rummage through my stuff to find them. If there was a small inner pocket higher up, then it would have saved me a lot of time. Or even a small non-security pocket in the strap would have been convenient.
The main compartment has 2 inner pockets but I lock that compartment to secure more valuable items so not convenient for small frequent quick grab items.
As others mentioned, the zippers are only lockable on 1 side. The second zipper of the smaller compartment is effectively useless unless you didn't buy a Pacsafe bag for security reasons...
The strap is narrow and stiff. It digs into my shoulder and hurts after a while when the sling is full. A wider and softer strap like some other brands' slings would be much better.
You can give one shoulder a rest when it gets painful by switching the strap. However the zippers only lock on one side making the whole switchable strap feature a lot less useful. Pacsafe did not fully think the switchable strap feature through properly.
Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback.
We’re sorry to hear that the strap caused discomfort during use. Your comments on the padding and width are valuable, and we’ll be sure to pass them along to our product team for future improvements.
The ambidextrous strap design is intended to offer flexibility for both left- and right-handed users, ensuring symmetry and functionality for everyone. We understand that the placement of the Roobar™ Sport locking system on one side may feel less convenient when switching. In such cases, we suggest using your non-dominant hand to access the lock after switching sides, as it will then be positioned closer to that hand. We’ll also share your feedback on the lock placement position with our product team for consideration.
Thank you for your feedback again.
This bag was perfect for our international trip to Italy. We felt safe and comfortable with this bag holding our belongings. The locks are wonderful and easy to use. There was plenty of room for essentials. The water pouch sleeve and hole for a hose was utilized for a hydra pak we used every day on our trip.
The locking mechanism being fixed to one side really limits right shoulder use. I'd also like the strap to be a bit wider to spread the load more. With a wider strap, it could have a small pocket for quick access to frequently used small things.
I would love to see a smaller backpack style sling (not a fanny pack form factor!) while keeping the bottle pockets!
Thank you for your detailed feedback on the ECO 12L sling backpack, JJ—we really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and suggestions.
We understand your concern about the locking mechanism's position. The current design does have the lock positioned on one side, which can create that limitation you've mentioned.
Your suggestions about a wider strap for better load distribution and the addition of a small quick-access pocket are excellent ideas that would definitely enhance the user experience. We can see how those features would make the bag more comfortable and practical for daily use.
We're also excited to hear your interest in a smaller 10L version that maintains the backpack-style design and keeps those handy bottle pockets.
We'll be sure to pass along all of your suggestions—the locking mechanism feedback, strap improvements and the size request—to our design team for future consideration.
Thank you for your thoughtful input and for supporting our products!
